A disabled man in his final years reminisces on the contrasts of life as he learns to let things go.

SYNOPSIS

Edward Leech is a survivor of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who once fell in love with his nurse. While the disease has slowed, other happinesses of life have halted, and each materialistic product in his home is a reminder of people and times that only exist in memories. Utilize your energy carefully as you move and sell items to improve Edward's mood by letting things go, for a clear mind may find new joys in the time that remains.

This title was developed in nine days for the 69th edition of the Godot Wild Jam.

Main menu: I made a video using Godot's camera system, and integrated it into a minimalistic main menu that was highly praised in the reviews. The lead programmer also asked me to extend my usual UI work into overhauling the in-game HUD, which I did, using emotive graphics to illustrate the main character's mood, and programming a radial "joy meter" in correspondence with the joy variable. The game design is to find and sell items, triggering a dialogue about memories the main character has. These objects are located around the house. Endjoy remains one of the few games where one plays as a disabled protagonist. The script was written in one session, and along with the UI, was also considered a highlight of the game. With very limited art assets delivered by the artist this jam, I needed to create a striking cover art using a stock photo to attract players.
