SYNOPSIS

In the newWorld, money has ceased to exist, digital consciousness has solved hunger and survival, and physical space has become more about simplicity than art. But as society evolves, it may revolve all the way around, and in this future, all that matters is the search for light—for it may lead to enlightenment.

The final cultists of this sole ideology have entered worlds where the last lights in existence remain. However, in worship of their higher power, they have committed their sights to the ground and may only walk as far as the eyes can see. Control the perspective and environment to guide these believers towards the light they seek, and help them ascend to the promised land.

This title was created for—and won—the 61st edition of the Godot Wild Jam.

UI / UX: I designed, animated, and programmed the splash screen and main menu, as well as the in-game HUD. I produced a team of four, leading game design and production meetings, and empowering my teammates to contribute the best of themselves in what became a critically acclaimed and award-winning submission. Project management starts off bare... ... but after productive discussions where design is settled, a production plan is made, and the board quickly fills up with tasks. Our talented programmer's "agent AI" work, where our discussed isometric perspective and camera-turning features were implemented in the prototype. Mechanics, art, sound, and UI all coming together in perfect harmony resulted in a cohesive finished product, which was widely praised for the atmosphere it evoked. We were all on the same page.
